Fresh Start Second Semester

Image result for fresh start

Welcome to second semester! First semester grades do not transfer over, so everyone is starting fresh! For students and families who have been experiencing that daunting trying-to-dig-out-of-a-deep-hole feeling the last few weeks, attempting to raise that F to a D, that C to an A, chat about that lesson learned!

Is it easier to keep a good grade or to raise a grade? When is it easier to raise your grade--in the beginning of the semester or the end? Is it easier to do assignments when they’re due or to do a bunch of missing assignments near the end  of the grading period? How does it feel to have that low grade? What are your goals this semester? What do we need to do to get there? There can be a lot of anxiety around grades, so this time can be a breath of fresh air for families. Try to hold on to this fresh start feeling for as long as you can by keeping on top of grades this semester.

Enjoy your conversations! And, as always, we’re here if you have questions or concerns. David Keller (360)662-2344; Morgan Collins (360)662-2343; and Linda Roberts, Counseling Secretary, (360)662-2340.
