Grading Has Begun!

This week students really started getting feedback for their efforts. Tests have started, homework is in full swing, and grades have been entered into the gradebook. This would be a great time to log into ParentAccess to check your child’s grades and have a conversation about starting the year off strong. If your student already has a C or below, ask her what she needs? Ask him what the hardest thing has been so far and troubleshoot how to make that better? Does your child need more dedicated homework time? Do they need tutoring? Drop in peer tutoring on Thursdays starts tomorrow after school. And math tutoring with a teacher after school starts on Mondays. Check out our website for more information.

At this point in the year there are only a few things in the gradebook and each item weighs heavy. So, while it’s easy to drop your grade with one missed assignment or one failed quiz, it’s also a lot easier now to raise that grade up. Don’t wait till November!

Enjoy your conversations! And, as always, we’re here if you have questions or concerns. David Keller (360)662-2344; Morgan Collins (360)662-2343; and Linda Roberts, Counseling Secretary, (360)662-2340.
